Scriptographer script for replicating existing objects in a block repeat pattern

How to use: run script, chose tiling parameters
(optional: make a "Tiles" layer, and do "generate Tiles"
select your objects and click "Assign Shapes"
Create an output layer and make it active
run "Replicate"
(optional, hide original shapes)

Hints for most regular results: (not that you need to want that!)
Place source objects in the bottom left tile.
Make the num of columns and the %drop multiply to an integer.
Make the num of rows and the %shift multiply to an integer.
Leave on of %shift or %drop equal to zero.
If using %drop, use even num rows.
If using %shift, use even number of columns.

Settings:
num_of_columns
num_of_rows
type_of_pattern: plain, pillar, strip, diaper
type_of_modification: none, h_mirror, v_mirror, rotate 180
drop_percent: 100% = one tile height
shift_percent: 100% = one tile width

max_random_translation: 0 (100% = one tile's worth)
max_random_rotation: 0 (100% = upside down)
min_random_scale: eg. 50%
max_random_scale: eg 250%

 patternrepeat.js

here's a palette toolbox of random scripts that i wrote:

- random delete
slider to randomly delete more or less items

-random stroke weight
boxes to set a low value and high value (i.e. random(LOW,HIGH) )

- random color (cmyk values or swatches)*
for the colors be sure to always keep clear, registration, white, and black as the first four colors.

- random transparency
boxes to set a low value and high value (i.e. random(LOW,HIGH) )

---

it uses some stuff borrowed from keegan's "rando-color.js" as well as from some other things i had written in processing.

i post it here, with the caveat that although it's stable for me and i use it quite frequently,i can't guarantee that it won't cause problems for someone else (i'm on a mac 10.4 CS3)

what is it for:
crowdomatic places a crowd of objects (crowd-objects) along a target-path (shape) and if desired all over the document too.

how to use: step 1: select "crowdomatic_0.2.js" in scriptgrapher and press the play button. a dialog appears.

step 2: draw a shape you want to be crowded then click "assign shape(s)" from the dialog

step 3: draw the objects you want to be your crowd / crowd-object(s) (these can be simple shapes or also groups... even textobjects work to some point) then select all the crowd objects and click assign "crowd-object(s)" from the dialog

step 4: tune the values in the dialog to your liking (try and error, pls)

step 5: click "do it" and enjoy the result or undo to change the values and try again. note, you don't have to reassign the shape or the crowd-objects unless you removed any of the crowd-objects.

-> for additonal information read the descripton inside the scriptfile!
very simple script that will flip-flop fills into strokes and visa versa.

specifically for a selection of items that have different colored fills/strokes, instead of selecting each individually this script takes care of it.

Extension of Tutorial 2 that lets you choose a color range to randomly recolor art. Just enter the hsb values for the two colors.

Also, you can choose to change the transparency or use only the active document's swatches.

Unfortunately, pattern swatches and color book swatches (like pantones) won't work. If anyone has any thoughts on how to fix that, let me know because I would love for them to work too.

Works great on large groups of shapes. Have fun!

this script makes a line or a bunch of lines dashed, with random values for the gap and dash.

It's kind of fun to use on lots and lots of lines at once. Why not use it with the spiderweb script or wall blazer first?

After all, who doesn't love a little randomness?

what it does:
the script takes the selected objects and blows them up with a detonation.
the detonation starts at the documents zeropoint and can be adjusted by
moving that point or the selected vectors around.

how to use:
select a few objects or several or also quite a lot and press the
play button. a dialog will open with some options to tweak the result.
tweak them and hit "lets boom!!!"

if the objects don't explode, they're most likely still a group.
ungroup them! use free objects, free the objects!! freedom for objects!!
down wif teh grups!!!

the detonation uses four "circles" to create the explosion.
they can be modified in the script options to achieve different looks.
try out different values and different selected objects.
also don't forget to play with the scale of the selected objects
in relation to the document size.

notes:
great things come from explosions.
but also great evil, so choose your objects wisely!

todo:
use pathfinder to make a splitter-mode. heelp needed ->
