Random Scale of Objects

I am trying to come up with a similar script to Random Distribute, that Randomizes the scale of objects, but keeping the proportions intact. However I am having a hard time.

I think I would have to figure out what the property for scale (might be separate for x and y scale) and replace obj.bounds.width/height with xscale/yscale.

Scriptographer/Illustrator (kind of) freezing problem...

I recently did a fresh re-install on my mac, and Illustrator (CS3, 13.0.2) was working just fine. After I installed Scriptographer, I noticed that when ever I save a file that has a large linked photo in the document, Illustrator does this strange freeze, where I can still select tools from the tool bars and menu items, but cannot select anything in the layers palette or in the document itself.

I've also noticed that when I CMD+Tab out of Illustrator, and then back into Illustrator, the Scriptographer console will appear with random script errors (no documentation on what shows up at the moment; will post with results when they appear).

Don't know if the two are related or not, but thought I'd throw it out...

Hi,
when I doing something on illustrator (CS3), for example I save doc. I can't do anything because plugin scripto doing something with my illustrator, when I refresh script there is allrights... Why?

Gearwheels

I was always missing the easy option to make simple gearwheels. So today i wrote a very simple implementation in Scriptographer.
Hopefully someone finds use for it as well ;)

Controlling Angle of Calligraphic Brushes

In the calligraphic brush options of Illustrator, you can define the way the angle of an ellipsoid brush is affected by the stylus (pressure, tilt, bearing,...). Can this value be controlled with Scriptographer?

For example: I have a flat ellipsoid brush, I draw a curved stroke and then I want a script to make the brush's angle to be at an angle of 90° to the stroke's direction at any point. The reason? So I get flat ends (similar a pencil stroke's butt cap as opposed to the round cap) for a brush stroke with pressure-dynamic width.

If that's not possible yet, that is so on my wish list. Thank you.

Java RunTime Error

hi there,

despite I've installed the JRE, I'm getting the following error message launching Illustrator:
Error opening registry key
'Software\JavaSoft\Java Runtime\Environment

I'm on Vista x64 and I've installed JRE for x64.

Any hint?

p.s. after the first error message a second one appear:
Cannot create Scriptographer Engine

I just downloaded scriptographer and i can get all of the other things to work but not the rasters. i don't know what i am doing wrong.
i followed the tutorials and i am doing everything exactly the same as shown.
i also searched the help section and followed all instructions but it still doesn't work.
I click the play button and nothing happens at all.
can anyone please help me?
i am a design student and am so looking forward to using it.....
I'm on a g5 mac, not intel... (and am as you probably have guessed, not all that computer-literate)
i have cs2 and cs3 and have downloaded both and the same thing happens on both....
help help!!

Hi,
i've got some problems using scriptographer on my Illustrator CS3.
When i try to use a script, Ill say me that there's a syntax error.
My Ill is in the italian version. I don't know if it could be a problem.
